SNS are happy to announce that we have a new call! You are welcome to apply if you want to build up a network within Nordic Wood Science & Technology.

The aim of the call is to promote collaboration among researchers, stakeholders and/or communicators from the Nordic forest sector by networking activities. The networks should cover topics within Nordic wood science and technology, including wood processing and utilisation. The topics could also be wider and deal with economic and social issues, for example how wood and fibre products contribute to a sustainable development in a circular economy.

With this network call we want to increase Nordic synergy in research and innovation in the forest sector by networking, workshops, seminars and joint utilization of unique research facilities. The networks will form a platform for communication and assessing challenges, knowledge gaps and opportunities within Nordic forestry. The networks are strongly encouraged to also be platforms for searching for other funding, for example EU funds.

The networks will contribute to SNS strategy and work together to address challenges and goals of the United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Nordic Forest Solutions (NFS) and the Nidaros Declaration.

(*) Nordic is defined here as Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the autonomous areas Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland Islands.

Who can apply?

Researchers and/or communicators at research institutions in the Nordic (*) area are eligible to apply. Stakeholders can be involved, but cannot be main applicants.

Network grants are for 1 year of activities. The applied amount per network should be approx. 100 000–250 000 SEK.

A self-financing component of at minimum 50% of the total budget of the network is required and has to be described in the application.

Deadline for application has passed.
