SNS wants to promote Nordic networking in the forest sector, and we think it’s an advantage to start early. Therefore, we give the opportunity for the organizer of a PhD course for young researchers to apply for funding to make it possible for people from the various Nordic countries to participate. By reaching more people in the Nordics, SNS believes the PhD courses can contribute to synergies and collaborations in forest research in the future.
There must be a Nordic component in the application. You can be granted funds for general planning of the course if the subject of the course has a direct Nordic component, travel expenses for Nordic participants or to invite visiting Nordic lecturers for example. Funding is not granted for labour costs including for example salary.
Whoever arranges a PhD course can apply for a maximum of SEK 50,000 for a course. You can apply at any time during the year as long as there is money left in the pot – first come, first served! SNS can cover a maximum of 50% of the total expenses for the course.
SNS wants the applicant to complete and send us the reporting form no later than three months after the end of the course. The form is sent to email@example.com, mark it “Reporting/PhD course”.
SNS offers you to use our method manual for a more gender equal course. The method handbook is an accessible guide for teachers and students to integrate digital issues from a gender perspective into forest and agricultural education.
We also have made gender equality guidelines for the researcher networks that we fund, you are more than welcome to have a look at them too! In case you are granted funding, you will be expected to use the guidelines in your work wit
