The joint Nordic Forest Research (SNS) and EFINORD call for applications is now open.
The aim of the call is to promote North European synergies and to interlink forest research in the Nordic, Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic regions by networking activities. The networks should cover topics within sustainable forest based bioeconomy, ecosystem services or climate change mitigation and adaptation.
If you want to network with other researchers and stakeholders in your topic, arrange workshops, seminars or open conferences, produce large-scale project applications, peer-reviewed scientific papers or design policy recommendations based on research findings – have a closer look at our call!
Approved networks are funded over the course of one year and the applied amount per network should be approximately 100 000-200 000 SEK. You have to find some other financing than ours of at minimum 50% of the budget. The total budget of the call is 1 000 000 SEK.
One of the requirements for approval is that the networks should include researchers and/or communicators at research institutions in the Nordic (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the autonomous areas Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland Islands) and other countries from the extended EFINORD area (the Nordic countries and Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, NW Russia, Poland, Northern Germany, Northern UK, Ireland).
The networks also must have an even gender distribution (40-60%) and female coordinators are encouraged to apply for funding since SNS emphasizes gender balance. The networks also has to include and involve PhD students/young researchers.
