The event gathers researchers, practitioners, and business representatives. The first day is focused on a transdisciplinary dialogue with keynote speakers from the European Forest Institute and the Finnish Pellervo economic research institute, as well as a panel discussion with participants from both research, government agencies, NGOs, and industry. The second day features scientific presentations on topics like societal challenges, biodiversity, carbon and EU policies.
Why are you organizing this conference?
– The idea behind our conference is to gather a wide range of people that relate to Nordic forests and forestry in different ways, and discuss Nordic forest policy taking their diverse views and experiences into account, says Wilhelm May, organizer of the conference program on behalf of the research project GreenPole.
The conference is supported by NordForsk, BECC, The strategic research area for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate at Lund University, and SNS.
