What does it really mean to be a man? Do you dare to take a closer look at your own masculinity?
Here’s your chance! On May 29th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, we’re gathering men from the green sectors to explore what it means to be a man and how we can develop our masculinity. We’re doing this to open new doors within ourselves, to promote gender equality, and to be part of changing a sector that has been male-dominated for as long as we can remember.
PLACE
We’ll meet digitally via Zoom.
AGENDA
The afternoon begins with a lecture by Musse Hasselvall (director, author, and martial arts expert) on norms and macho culture, lasting about an hour. Guided by Kristoffer Fredriksson from Studieförbundet Bilda Nord, we’ll engage in personal conversations – pairing up to reflect and share, as well as in slightly larger groups. We’ll occasionally reconvene as a full group to exchange experiences, thoughts, and ideas. Kristoffer draws inspiration from the concept ”Kollegernas killmiddag” (Killmiddag.se). Some of the questions we’ll explore include:
• What is okay to joke about – and not okay – at work?
• What jargon do we use, and could it exclude colleagues?
• Do we care about each other’s well-being in the workplace?
• What responsibility do we have to prevent sexual harassment at work?
LANGUAGE
The lecture, information, and large-group discussions will be in English. Pair and small-group conversations will preferably be held in participants’ native languages, if possible.
