The OSCAR workshop on HCT, CTI and forest roads has just been concluded. It was held in Finland on August 26-28 and attracted some 30 participants.
At the FinnMetko Fair, the participants saw the latest available transport technology demonstrated and could discuss with both users and manufacturers.
The Workshop program included presentations of current research and practical developments in timber transport technology in the Nordic Baltic countries as well as in-depth presentations of technologies and innovations allowing more efficient transportation of forest products on low-volume roads.
The OSCAR Transports team have agreed to continue working on standards such as a Road Wear Index, Fuel Consumption Index for different technologies etc. and are organised in three subgroups within the OSCAR transport Workshop, namely:
- High Capacity Transports (HCT)
- Central Tire Inflation (CTI) and
- Low Volume Roads.
