At the same time there is a concern in society that we should not deplete the extant genetic variation. This is especially true for resistance breeding, which also needs to take into account dynamic responses in pest and pathogen populations.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the conference was to provide examples of how clonal forestry and breeding can be applied in a sustainable manner.
