Inherited differences in tolerance level among ash trees of the natural gene pool suggest that pathways are available to obtain better material of ash for the future forests. The specific aim of the workshop was to bring together people with special interest in the improvement of European ash challenged by the pathogen <i>Hymenoscyphus fraxineus<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting included scientific indoor sessions to we exchange ideas on how to test, breed and develop markers and other methodologies to assist breeding of healthy ash.
